CaveText

Privacy policy

Last updated 20 October 2026

CaveText is a Chrome extension that expands typed shortcuts into saved prompts on AI chat websites. It collects no personal data, and the people who make it never see your prompts or anything you type.

What CaveText stores

Your snippets (each one's name, shortcut and text), your folders, and the list of websites where CaveText is turned on. They are stored by Chrome on your computer. If you use Chrome sync, Chrome copies your snippets to your other computers through your Google account, under Google's privacy policy. When your snippets are too large for Chrome sync, they stay on your computer only.
